Setting up your Profile / Getting Started

If you are having trouble setting up your profile, or having issues with the site, please take these steps;
1) deep breathe... we'll get it working, don't worry!
2) Review the FAQ's. If you are having issues setting up your profile there are several FAQ's listed under "Setting up your Profile / Getting Started" that may answer your questions.
3) Still not working for you? Contact us! You may use our contact us form by clicking here, just simply fill out the info and make sure you include your name, email address and what problem you are having. Not good at typing? Call our support line at 1(800) 952-4140 and press 3 for Support when prompted. You may get voice mail, as our support staff is not yet running 24 hours a day. Just leave us a message and we will get back to you by phone or email, whichever you prefer.

When I copy and paste the link to my Profile, why does my link take me to a "log in/sign up" page instead of my profile page? |

If you have copied and pasted the url in the browser while you are logged in, and can access the back end of your profile, you have copied a link to the logged-in, back-end of your profile, which the general public cannot view without your password. The "log in/sign up" page is to prompt those trying to access the back end of profiles that they cannot enter the back end without logging in or signing up.
Here are the steps to successfully copying and pasting the URL that will link to the public view of your profile:
1. Log Out
2. Return to your profile (search by company name)
3. Now you can copy and paste the URL and the link will take people to the public view of your profile, rather than the backend with the "log in or sign up" prompt. |

here are 5 easy tips to get started setting up a profile:
1) login using your username (or email address) and password in the login screen located below the Left menu.
2) Click on the MY PROFILE tab in the top menu
3) After clicking, you will find a button titled EDIT. Mouseover that button and select UPDATE YOUR PROFILE.
4) You will now see a series of buttons titled, PORTRAIT, LOGO, USER STATUS, … and more (the availability of these buttons vary by the level of profile you have chosen). Within these buttons you may enter profile information.
5) We have found that profiles containing a picture, company logo and as much information as possible about the company, the rep and the offer attract more profile views.

My profile is not on the front page as a Featured Profile? |

There are several reasons that your profile might not be showing in our front page, Featured Profiles sections.
1) You are not subscribed to a PREMIUM PROFILE plan. If you would like to have this valuable, front page exposure, you may upgrade to a Premium Profile by going into the EDIT area of your profile and selecting the MY SUBSCRIPTIONS tab. Here you will be given the option to upgrade and your profile will appear in our Featured Profiles sections on the front page.
2) You have not yet completed your profile. You must have a picture or a logo in the PORTRAIT section to show up as a FEATURED PROFILE. Also, your profile may be disabled from showing up on the front page if your profile has important fields that are incomplete.
3) You may be in rotation to show up, but have not yet seen your profile listed on the front page. The Featured Profile front page sections are randomized. Hit refresh on your browser and eventually you will cycle through. Be patient, we have many profiles that are randomly displayed, but be assured that with our thousands of site browsers your profile is being seen!

GoMatador.com tweets daily about the home-based business opportunities on our site. Here are some helpful tips to maximize YOUR exposure by leveraging OUR Twitter exposure.
- If you have a Twitter account, follow us on Twitter and we will follow you!
- Be sure to direct a tweet to us on Twitter (@GoMatador, followed by your message) to let us know you are on GoMatador.com. Your Twitter user name is probably not the same as your goMatador.com profile name, so if you don’t tell us, we won’t recognize you.
- When we tweet about exciting news, new articles, or your opportunity, retweet (RT) it to your followers.
- When you tweet about exciting news, articles or your opportunity we will retweet it to our followers!
- Increase your chances of being retweeted by avoiding scammy or spammy language.
- When tweeting news or about your opportunity, always include a tiny URL (a link that has been shortened for Twitter) that links to your GoMatador.com profile or your own website so the people seeing your tweets will end up where your opportunity is. You can change your URL to a Tiny URL by visiting www.tinyurl.com. (Tweetdeck.com, HootSuite.com and other Twitter-management sites automaticaly shorten your URLs and let you organize your tweets.)
- If you are linking your tweets to your GoMatador.com profile, you will be able to see the effectiveness of your tweets (and our retweets of your tweets) by the counter on the back end of your profile that tells you how many times it has been viewed. This way, you can track what is working for you and what is not.
- Talk to us on Twitter by inserting “@gomatador” before the text you want directed at us.
- You can tweet @gomatador for tech assistance in setting up your profile, for any customer service-related topics, to let us know how many recruits you’ve gotten from exposure on our site, to ask questions about our services, etc. We are here to help you!
- Help us build an active, cooperative community of GoMatador.com followers while we do the same for your opportunity. Communicating on Twitter is easy, it boosts your traffic and it creates an online community of win-win exposure.

- Write on our Wall to tell us that you are on GoMatador.com.
- You can write on our Wall or Direct Message us for tech assistance in setting up your profile, for any customer service-related topics, to let us know how many recruits you’ve gotten from exposure on our site, to ask questions about our services, etc. We are here to help you!

This way, you can track what is working for you and what is not.

YES, you may unsubscribe at ANY time. Within your profile is a tab titled SUBSCRIPTIONS which contains information about what level your profile is currently, and what your upgrade possibilities are. At the bottom of this section is an UNSUBSCRIBE button that can be used at any time. Also, you may unsubscribe by emailing us. |

Getting started is easy!
- Selected which plan is right for you, fill in the required information and sign up using a debit/credit card.
- You will immediately be emailed a link which helps our servers identify you as a real human and not a "bot" set up to spam our site.
- In the email, click on the attached link to activate your new profile. You will be forwarded to the GoMatador site and prompted for your User Name and Password.
- Now you have access to your new profile, where (depending on what profile level you have chosen) you may add your picture(s), links, contact information, personal/company details and other information that will allow you to better connect with users who are seeking home-based opportunities.
- Additionally, your new profile will appear in refined searches by our users, who have the option of contacting you within our private messaging system if your company interests them.

How do I update my Profile? |

After you have selected your desired option within the "Get a Profile" tab in the Main Menu, you are required to enter your name, email address and password upon registration, while also paying your subscription fee. After your payment has been accepted, you will be emailed an activation link to the email provided. If you do not receive this confirmation email, FIRST check your junk email folder, THEN try logging in to GoMatador.com using your email address and password. This action will generate a new confirmation email. You must click this provided link to activate your profile.
Next, you will want to login in with your user name and password (at the bottom left of the front page of GoMatador.com), to see your profile page. Your user name is your first and last name OR you can login using the email address provided at registration. To edit the fields for public view, mouseover the EDIT tab in the upper left of your profile section (see the Figure below) and select UPDATE YOUR PROFILE.
Within the EDIT tab you will find many fields which will provide those seeking home-based opportunities information about you/your company. The higher level of profile selected, the more fields are available. Remember, this is what users browsing for information are going to see when they find your profile in a search. Please be sure to give an honest, accurate assessment of your opportunity! Users can report profiles they feel are misleading.
