The GoMatador.com search results appear differently for each search criteria used.  The first and results will always be sorted relevancy, regardless of the search terms used.  This means that if you search by "Category", the results containing the category selected will appear first.  These results are then filtered by "profile level", which is determined by whether users have purchased Premium, Upgraded or Basic profiles.  Obviously, the higher levels will appear first.  The next filter used is changed randomly.  It may be by location, alphabetically by company name, alphabetically by user name, first or last, and sometimes by reverse alphabetical order for any of these criteria, or by date signed up.  Other criteria are used to sort these lists as well.  

Keep in mind that Premium Profiles will be included on our front page, randomized "featured profile" slots, and have their image appear randomly which will click-thru to their profile.  During the month of December, we are allowing Upgraded Profiles to have this front page exposure as well.  If you sign up in Dec., you will keep this benefit until you decide to cancel your subscription.
